If people who get AIDS through high-risk sexual behavior were unworthy of our compassion, the attitude of the elder son toward the prodigal would be right (Luke 15:26-29). However, just as the father in this parable had compassion on his wayward son (Luke 15:11-31), Christians should reflect Christ’s compassion.
